イギリスを代表する小説家E. M. フォースターの作品について、「伝統的リアリズムvs モダニズム」という旧来の図式を踏襲し続ける先行研究の限界を乗り越えた意欲作。全編英語。
現代のイギリス人小説家ゼイディー・スミスらに継承されているフォースターの文学的功績に注目し、フォースターのナラティブがリアリズムかモダニズムかという制約、またポストモダニズム、あるいは昨今研究され始めているメタモダニズムという時代区分の壁を越えた価値を有するものであることを明らかにする。

福岡大学人文学部准教授。20世紀のイギリス小説（E. M. フォースター、ヴァージニア・ウルフ、カズオ・イシグロなど）について研究。また、小説を題材にした映画も研究対象としている。博士（文学）（早稲田大学）。MA in Literatures of Modernity(University of London) 。訳書に『フラッシュ　ある犬の伝記』（幻戯書房）がある。
